Unique

Listening (heeding) souls was my heart impression in devotion time this morning.  God spoke and they sought.  God doesn't change and I want to be like them.  When Jesus came down from heaven, most folks missed it.  The Holy Spirit is here today...He is all around us, and folks are still missing Him.  We are called to be witnesses to His Light that others will seek Him and find Him.  So, what Light has God given you?  He is so grand, none of us has the 'full picture.'  We are unique creations designed to show His glory in our own unique way!  Treasure your role; treasure the role of others and rejoice in His beauty!

When John the Baptist came on the scene, he emphatically said he was just a voice...a witness to the light.  John chastised the Pharisees and the Sadducees.  Legalism still exists; Liberalism still exists:  Neither are the Light!  John said repent--turn from YOUR ways--produce fruitS worthy of that turning.  That spoke to me too of unique-ness as well. 

When we turn from the choices we make, there will be different fruits (plural).  My fruit will be different than yours; yours will be different from your spouse.  John even gave different groups, different instructions.  He told the people to share what they had.  He told the tax collectors not to take more than necessary.  He told the soldiers not to be violent or false accusers--and to be content.

Fruits of repentance always emanate a certain aroma and flavor. Galatians reveals to us the nature of His Spirit:  love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self-control.  Let's share our witness of Him and spread His sweetness around!
