We have a Choice.

My morning takeaway from devo time:  That in every circumstance God sets before each individual the choice of Life or Death...and holds us accountable for the choice we make as individuals.  Woven  into that thought is the reality that leaders have additional weights upon them--and that everyone of us is a leader to others in some context.

In the scriptures I read, Judah's enemies were conquering and taking the 'best and brightest' into captivity.  The Word of God was not to fight but submit.  God said this circumstance is from me for your good.  If you fight, famine, difficulties and violence will kill you.  If you choose to seek me, I will give you life.  Competing with the Word of God were prophets who 'spoke the lies in their own hearts.'  The 'logical' response to captivity is FIGHT, but the right choice is find out what God wants us to do.  Truth and Lies are always competing for our allegiance.  The only way to know the will of God is to seek His face.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness. (James 3:13-18)

There is an old hymn singing in my heart:  "Look full in His wonderful face.  And the things of this world will go strangely dim in the Light of His Glory and Grace!"  Have a blessed day IN HIM!
