The awesome beauty of God is married if His complexity is diminished. Jeremiah ends with another lying prophet...one who is like so many in our world today. He wanted to give the 'good' message alone: your captivity will end, there is blessing in your future. God says that half the message strengthens the captivity. Half-truths are lies...lies are of the devil and deliver death.
The Truth is more complicated, with what appear to be conflicting realities. Those realities reveal depths of Truth that transform lives! God will stop at nothing to free us from the lies that destroy us. In Chapter 30 of Jeremiah we read such things as '...the whirlwind of the LORD goes forth in fury" and "...the fierce anger of the Lord shall not return until He has performed the purposes of His heart." God's judgment on sin is not wishy-washy; it is clear and decisive. We need that clarity in our lives to get to the 'good message.' The truth under that judgment is this:

Good parents do not ignore destructive behaviors in the lives of their children. God is the ultimate good parent. He is the faithful, heavenly Father seeking the best for His children. The whirlwind has a purpose--and that purpose is to send us running into the shelter of His righteousness.
