Power in the Soul

Some varied thoughts this morning.  The Proverb that says a broken spirit is hard to withstand stopped me.  I thought of the image of three circles:  soul in the center, spirit encircling that and the physical body as the outside circle.  (Go ahead, draw it...)  When that spirit is ripped--and it happens in this world, dangerous damage happens.  BUT the Holy Spirit can heal.  Perhaps the Spirit protects the soul to a degree...the mind, the intellect and the will are buried deep within.  Living for God's glory must flow from the outside in--that's why our heart matters, not the 'rules.' 

I can't say I fully get it but there's some verses that relate and inspire me.  Maybe they will you too:

Phillipians 2:13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  His will is at the core of my being.  It can be my driving force.  The external does not have to dictate what I do.  (Golly I need to remember that with 'simple' things:  food, feelings...)
2Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.


Not only does He give me His will, He gives the strength to do His will!
