Deuteronomy: Chapter 8

When life takes those turns into dreary paths, this would be a great chapter to read.  The tough spots of life may be the greatest blessings we encounter for they remind us of our desperate need for Jehovah!  The pleasant spots of life may be our greatest danger as we have a prideful tendency to think the blessings flow from ourselves.  Failing to remember that He is the source of all good can be deadly.

God is able and willing to meet our every need.  He loves to bless us, yet He will not be slow to use whatever means is necessary to draw us back unto Himself.  Sometimes our victories have come because others' have turned from Him; we must always humbly seek Him, trust Him and serve Him.  His purposes are trustworthy and blessed.
