Construction projects take a lot of planning. No one decides to build a house because they have seen a house and have some boards lying about. Meeting the physical needs of babies allows thier bodies to be built. Constructing a life is more than growing a body. This blog is for those who are passionate about building lives in Christ. Serving others is a great way to build the body--and our faith. Serving is simply a scaffolding on which to watch the Lord at work.

Exodus: Chapter 39
The weight and the beauty of the priests' garments certainly helped impress upon him the vital role God had given. The jewels representing each of the tribes would certainly have reminded the priest of why he was called to serve. And I was again reminded that the pomegranate and the bells are intended as reminders of fruitful and melodious service. I envy the daily reminder the clothing was to be. I need to be reminded of the beauty and privilege of serving the One True God. I need to reminded of the preciousness in God's eves of each person I serve. The passage reminded me of Colossians 3 which exhorts us 'as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, to clothe ourselves with compassion, gentleness, kindness, humility and patience. Those are our jeweled weights to wear...and they indeed are beautiful! Might we all dress well!
