Leviticus: Chapter 9

As I read these chapters I wondered if this were perhaps a model teaching program:  instruction, observation, and finally actual serving with supervision.  I wondered, too, do we remember that seeing the glory of God is an expected outcome of serving obediently?!  God has not instructed us for His own good and His own blessing--He wants to bless us!  There is no greater place to be than in the presence of the Lord.  And like the priests, when we obediently serve, others will be blessed by His presence as well.

A quick note from the Thru the Bible commentary:  "Consecration isn't a promise to go out as a missionary or to do something else for the Lord.  Consecration means to come to the Lord with empty hands and ask, "Lord, what will You have me to do?"  He does the filling!"  Isn't that a cool thought to go to bed on (or start the day)?  To give God our hearts and hands and feet for His purposes, that is consecration.  He will do amazing things.  Be blessed!
